Peconic Baykeeper is a non-profit organization that works to protect and sustain the South Shore and Peconic Bays of Long Island. We accomplish this by working to improve water quality and productivity in these ecosystems, emphasizing the intrinsic connection between our bays and our communities.

Mosquito Control Update:

Update on Saving the Forge River:

While patrolling the South Shore Bays last June, Baykeeper Kevin McAllister ventured up the Forge River and happened upon an ecosystem in distress: dead killifish and crabs floating at the surface, a foul odor in the air, and a grayish plume extending from the eastern bank of the river.
