Dockers in the NewsPeconic Baykeeper's Letters to the Editor Viewpoint: Measured Response, 2/10/05 "Glaring discrepancies exist between Mr. Hoffman's representation of a concern for the community and his conscientious failure to provide remotely adequate or comprehensive information on the marina development." "This project specifically proposes to dredge a highly productive and ecologically sensitive area that has not been compromised by past development." "While this may seem an isolated project, it has the potential to be the precursor to several other marina developments on the barrier island. The cumulative impacts of unwise development pose a serious threat to the health and productivity of our bays." In response to the editorial titled "It's Our Land": "Good business" and private enterprise should play no deciding role in "good governance, the priority of which is the responsible administration and protection of our commonly owned natrual resources"
Other Press A letter signed by ten civic associations calling for the denial of this project Letters to the Editor from Concerned Citizens, 3/25/04 From Southampton Press Editorial: "Please! Take our land! Use it and prosper! It's our pleasure!" Wouldn't happen, you say? Guess again. From Southampton Press Editorial: There seems to be no good reason to approve the project.
