Pollution Patrol

As a proud member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, Peconic Baykeeper maintains an active presence as your “Eyes and Ears” on the water. Using our 18′ patrol vessel, Baykeeper Pete Topping regularly patrols our waterways and responds to citizen complaints ranging from pollution to illegal development to fish kills and more. As a watchdog for our bays, we then follow up with agencies of enforcement to ensure that violations are issued when appropriate. Regular patrols of the Peconic and South Shore Estuaries also provide us with important insights into local issues so that we can better engage with environmental stakeholders as ambassadors of waterway protection. We hope to see you out on the water!

To report pollution or an issue of concern in your favorite waterway, please contact us! Photos documenting the event/concern are also helpful if available.
